BNV : সেদিন শৌলের পুত্র য়োনাথন তার অস্ত্রবাহকের সঙ্গে কথা বলছিল| য়োনাথন বলল, “উপত্যকার অন্যদিকে পলেষ্টীয়দের তাঁবু গেড়েছে| চলো সেদিকে যাওয়া যাক|” পিতাকে সে এ বিষযে কোন কথা বলল না|
KJV : Now it came to pass upon a day, that Jonathan the son of Saul said unto the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over to the Philistines’ garrison, that [is] on the other side. But he told not his father.
YLT : And the day cometh that Jonathan son of Saul saith unto the young man bearing his weapons, `Come, and we pass over unto the station of the Philistines, which [is] on the other side of this;` and to his father he hath not declared [it].
RV : Now it fell upon a day, that Jonathan the son of Saul said unto the young man that bare his armour, Come and let us go over to the Philistines- garrison, that is on yonder side. But he told not his father.
RSV : One day Jonathan the son of Saul said to the young man who bore his armor, "Come, let us go over to the Philistine garrison on yonder side." But he did not tell his father.
ASV : Now it fell upon a day, that Jonathan the son of Saul said unto the young man that bare his armor, Come, and let us go over to the Philistines garrison, that is on yonder side. But he told not his father.
ESV : One day Jonathan the son of Saul said to the young man who carried his armor, "Come, let us go over to the Philistine garrison on the other side." But he did not tell his father.
ERVEN : That day, Saul's son Jonathan was talking with the young man who carried his weapons. Jonathan said, "Let's go to the Philistine camp on the other side of the valley." But Jonathan did not tell his father.

BNV : শৌল তখন পাহাড়ের ধারে মিগ্রোন নামে একটা জায়গায় একটা ডালিম গাছের নীচে বসেছিলেন| এটা ছিল যেখানে ফসল ঝাড়াই হয় তারই কাছে| শৌলের সঙ্গে ছিল প্রায 600 জন লোক|
KJV : And Saul tarried in the uttermost part of Gibeah under a pomegranate tree which is in Migron: and the people that [were] with him [were] about six hundred men;
YLT : And Saul is abiding at the extremity of Gibeah, under the pomegranate which [is] in Migron, and the people who [are] with him, about six hundred men,

ERVEN : Saul was sitting under a pomegranate tree at the threshing floor at the edge of the hill. Saul had about 600 men with him.

KJV : And Ahiah, the son of Ahitub, I-chabod’s brother, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eli, the LORD’S priest in Shiloh, wearing an ephod. And the people knew not that Jonathan was gone.
YLT : and Ahiah, son of Ahitub, brother of I-Chabod, son of Phinehas son of Eli priest of Jehovah in Shiloh, bearing an ephod; and the people knew not that Jonathan hath gone.
RV : and Ahijah, the son of Ahitub, Ichabod-s brother, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eli, the priest of the LORD in Shiloh, wearing an ephod. And the people knew not that Jonathan was gone.

ERVEN : One of the men was named Ahijah. Ahijah was a son of Ichabod's brother Ahitub. Ichabod was the son of Phinehas. Phinehas was the son of Eli. Eli had been the Lord's priest at Shiloh. Now Ahijah was the priest who wore the ephod. These men did not know that Jonathan had left.

BNV : গিরিপথের উভয় পাশে একটা বড় শিলা ছিল| য়োনাথন ঠিক করল ঐ গিরিপথ দিয়ে সে পলেষ্টীয় শিবিরে পৌঁছবে, একটা শিলার নাম ছিল বোত্‌সেস; অন্য শিলাটির নাম ছিল সেনি|
KJV : And between the passages, by which Jonathan sought to go over unto the Philistines’ garrison, [there was] a sharp rock on the one side and a sharp rock on the other side: and the name of the one [was] Bozez, and the name of the other Seneh.
YLT : And between the passages where Jonathan sought to pass over unto the station of the Philistines [is] the edge of a rock on the one side, and the edge of a rock on the other side, and the name of the one is Bozez, and the name of the other Seneh.

ERVEN : Jonathan was planning to go through a pass to get to the Philistine camp. There was a large rock on each side of the pass. The large rock on one side was named Bozez. The large rock on the other side was named Seneh.

KJV : The forefront of the one [was] situate northward over against Michmash, and the other southward over against Gibeah.

BNV : য়োনাথন তার অস্ত্রবাহক যুবক সহকারীকে বলল, “চলো আমরা ঐ বিদেশীদের তাঁবুর দিকে যাই| হয়তো ওদের হারিয়ে দিতে প্রভু আমাদের সাহায্য করতে পারেন| প্রভুকে কেউই থামাতে পারে না| আমাদের সৈন্য কম হোক্ বা বেশী এতে কিছু যায় আসে না|”
KJV : And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the LORD will work for us: for [there is] no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few.
YLT : And Jonathan saith unto the young man bearing his weapons, `Come, and we pass over unto the station of these uncircumcised; it may be Jehovah doth work for us, for there is no restraint to Jehovah to save by many or by few.`

ERVEN : Jonathan said to his young helper who carried his weapons, "Come on, let's go to the camp of those foreigners. Maybe the Lord will use us to defeat them. Nothing can stop the Lord—it doesn't matter if we have many soldiers or just a few soldiers."

BNV : অস্ত্রবাহক যুবকটি তাকে বলল, “যা ভাল বোঝ, করো| আমি তোমার সঙ্গে সমস্ত ব্যাপারে থাকব|”
KJV : And his armourbearer said unto him, Do all that [is] in thine heart: turn thee; behold, I [am] with thee according to thy heart.
YLT : And the bearer of his weapons saith to him, `Do all that [is] in thy heart; turn for thee; lo, I [am] with thee, as thine own heart.`
RV : And his armourbearer said unto him, Do all that is in thine heart: turn thee, behold I am with thee according to thy heart.
RSV : And his armor-bearer said to him, "Do all that your mind inclines to; behold, I am with you, as is your mind so is mine."
ASV : And his armorbearer said unto him, Do all that is in thy heart: turn thee, behold, I am with thee according to thy heart.
ESV : And his armor-bearer said to him, "Do all that is in your heart. Do as you wish. Behold, I am with you heart and soul."
ERVEN : The young man who carried Jonathan's weapons said to him, "Do what you think is best. I am with you all the way."

BNV : য়োনাথন বলল, “চলো এগোনো যাক! আমরা উপত্যকা পেরিযে পলেষ্টীয় প্রহরীদের দিকে যাব| এমন করব যেন তারা আমাদের দেখতে পায়|
KJV : Then said Jonathan, Behold, we will pass over unto [these] men, and we will discover ourselves unto them.
YLT : And Jonathan saith, `Lo, we are passing over unto the men, and are revealed unto them;
RV : Then said Jonathan, Behold, we will pass over unto the men, and we will discover ourselves unto them.
RSV : Then said Jonathan, "Behold, we will cross over to the men, and we will show ourselves to them.
ASV : Then said Jonathan, Behold, we will pass over unto the men, and we will disclose ourselves unto them.
ESV : Then Jonathan said, "Behold, we will cross over to the men, and we will show ourselves to them.
ERVEN : Jonathan said, "Let's go! We'll cross the valley and go to the Philistine guards. We'll let them see us.

BNV : যদি তারা বলে, ‘আমরা না আসা পর্য়ন্ত ওখানে দাঁড়াও,’ তাহলে সেখানেই দাঁড়িয়ে থাকব| আমরা ওদের দিকে এগোব না|
KJV : If they say thus unto us, Tarry until we come to you; then we will stand still in our place, and will not go up unto them.
YLT : if thus they say unto us, `Stand still till we have come unto you,` then we have stood in our place, and do not go up unto them;
RV : If they say thus unto us, Tarry until we come to you; then we will stand still in our place, and will not go up unto them.
RSV : If they say to us, `Wait until we come to you,' then we will stand still in our place, and we will not go up to them.

BNV : কিন্তু যদি পলেষ্টীয় লোকরা বলে, ‘এদিকে চলে এসো,’ তাহলে আমরা তাদের দিকে পাহাড় ডিঙিযে চলে যাব| কেন? কারণ সেটাই হবে ঈশ্বরের দেওয়া চিহ্ন বিশেষ| এর অর্থ হচ্ছে, প্রভু আমাদের সহায় হলেন যাতে ওদের হারিয়ে দিতে পারি|”
KJV : But if they say thus, Come up unto us; then we will go up: for the LORD hath delivered them into our hand: and this [shall be] a sign unto us.
YLT : and if thus they say, `Come up against us,` then we have gone up, for Jehovah hath given them into our hand, and this to us [is] the sign.
RV : But if they say thus, Come up unto us; then we will go up: for the LORD hath delivered them into our hand: and this shall be the sign unto us.
RSV : But if they say, `Come up to us,' then we will go up; for the LORD has given them into our hand. And this shall be the sign to us."

ERVEN : But if the Philistine men say, 'Come up here,' then we will climb up to them. That will be a sign from God. That will mean that the Lord will allow us to defeat them."

BNV : সেই মতো য়োনাথন ও তার অস্ত্রবহনকারী পলেষ্টীয়দের একটা সুয়োগ করে দিল ওরা যাতে তাদের দেখতে পায়| পলেষ্টীয় প্রহরীরা বলল, “দেখ, গর্ত থেকে ইব্রীযরা বেরিয়ে আসছে যেখানে তারা লুকিয়ে ছিল!”
KJV : And both of them discovered themselves unto the garrison of the Philistines: and the Philistines said, Behold, the Hebrews come forth out of the holes where they had hid themselves.
YLT : And revealed are both of them unto the station of the Philistines, and the Philistines say, `Lo, Hebrews are coming out of the holes where they have hid themselves.`
RV : And both of them discovered themselves unto the garrison of the Philistines: and the Philistines said, Behold, the Hebrews come forth out of the holes where they had hid themselves.

BNV : দুর্গের ভেতর থেকে পলেষ্টীয়রা য়োনাথন ও তার অস্ত্রবহনকারীকে চিত্কার করে বলল, “এগিয়ে এসো| আমরা তোমাদের উচিত্‌ শিক্ষা দেব!”য়োনাথন তার অস্ত্রবহনকারীকে বলল, “আমি পাহাড়ে উঠছি| আমার পিছন পিছন এসো| প্রভু ইস্রায়েলীয়দের দিয়ে পলেষ্টীয়দের পরাজিত করতে দিচ্ছেন!”
KJV : And the men of the garrison answered Jonathan and his armourbearer, and said, Come up to us, and we will shew you a thing. And Jonathan said unto his armourbearer, Come up after me: for the LORD hath delivered them into the hand of Israel.
YLT : And the men of the station answer Jonathan, and the bearer of his weapons, and say, `Come up unto us, and we cause you to know something.` And Jonathan saith unto the bearer of his weapons, `Come up after me, for Jehovah hath given them into the hand of Israel.`
RV : And the men of the garrison answered Jonathan and his armourbearer, and said, Come up to us, and we will shew you a thing. And Jonathan said unto his armourbearer, Come up after me: for the LORD hath delivered them into the hand of Israel.

ESV : And the men of the garrison hailed Jonathan and his armor-bearer and said, "Come up to us, and we will show you a thing." And Jonathan said to his armor-bearer, "Come up after me, for the LORD has given them into the hand of Israel."
ERVEN : The Philistines in the fort shouted to Jonathan and his helper, "Come up here. We'll teach you a lesson." Jonathan said to his helper, "Follow me up the hill. The Lord is letting Israel defeat the Philistines."

BNV : তাই য়োনাথন হামাগুড়ি দিয়ে পাহাড়ে উঠল| তার অস্ত্রবহনকারী ঠিক তার পিছনে| য়োনাথন ও তার অস্ত্রবহনকারী সেখানে ছিল না| ওরা দুজনে পলেষ্টীয়দের আক্রমণ করল| প্রথম চোটেই তারা আধ একর জুড়ে 20 জন পলেষ্টীয়কে হত্যা করল| সামনে থেকে যারা আক্রমণ করতে আসছিল য়োনাথন তাদের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করল| আর তার অস্ত্রবহনকারী পিছন পিছন এসে যারা শুধু আহত হয়েছিল তাদের মেরে ফেলল|
KJV : And Jonathan climbed up upon his hands and upon his feet, and his armourbearer after him: and they fell before Jonathan; and his armourbearer slew after him.
YLT : And Jonathan goeth up on his hands, and on his feet, and the bearer of his weapons after him; and they fall before Jonathan, and the bearer of his weapons is putting to death after him.
RV : And Jonathan climbed up upon his hands and upon his feet, and his armourbearer after him: and they fell before Jonathan; and his armourbearer slew them after him.
RSV : Then Jonathan climbed up on his hands and feet, and his armor-bearer after him. And they fell before Jonathan, and his armor-bearer killed them after him;

ESV : Then Jonathan climbed up on his hands and feet, and his armor-bearer after him. And they fell before Jonathan, and his armor-bearer killed them after him.
ERVEN : So Jonathan climbed up the hill with his hands and feet, and his helper was right behind him. Jonathan and his helper attacked them. In the first attack, they killed 20 Philistines in an area about onehalf acre in size. Jonathan fought the men who attacked from the front. His helper came behind him and killed the men who were only wounded.

KJV : And that first slaughter, which Jonathan and his armourbearer made, was about twenty men, within as it were an half acre of land, [which] a yoke [of oxen might plow. ]
YLT : And the first smiting which Jonathan and the bearer of his weapons have smitten is of about twenty men, in about half a furrow of a yoke of a field,

BNV : পলেষ্টীয় সৈন্যরা সকলেই বেশ ভয় পেয়ে গেল| মাঠে, শিবিরে, দুর্গে যে সব সৈন্য ছিল সকলেই ভয় পেয়ে গেল, এমনকি সবচেয়ে সাহসী যারা তারাও| মাটি কাঁপতে লাগল এবং তাতে পলেষ্টীয় বাহিনী সত্যিই বেশ ভয় পেয়ে গেল|
KJV : And there was trembling in the host, in the field, and among all the people: the garrison, and the spoilers, they also trembled, and the earth quaked: so it was a very great trembling.
YLT : and there is a trembling in the camp, in the field, and among all the people, the station and the destroyers have trembled -- even they, and the earth shaketh, and it becometh a trembling of God.
RV : And there was a trembling in the camp, in the field, and among all the people; the garrison, and the spoilers, they also trembled: and the earth quaked; so there was an exceeding great trembling.
RSV : And there was a panic in the camp, in the field, and among all the people; the garrison and even the raiders trembled; the earth quaked; and it became a very great panic.

ESV : And there was a panic in the camp, in the field, and among all the people. The garrison and even the raiders trembled, the earth quaked, and it became a very great panic.
ERVEN : Great fear spread among the Philistine soldiers—those in the field, in the camp, and at the fort. Even the bravest soldiers were afraid. The ground began to shake, and they were completely overcome with fear.

BNV : শৌলের প্রহরীরা ছিল বিন্যামীনের গিবিয়ায়| তারা দেখল পলেষ্টীয়রা যেদিকে পারছে পালাচ্ছে|
KJV : And the watchmen of Saul in Gibeah of Benjamin looked; and, behold, the multitude melted away, and they went on beating down [one another. ]
YLT : And the watchmen of Saul in Gibeah of Benjamin see, and lo, the multitude hath melted away, and it goeth on, and is beaten down.

ERVEN : Saul's guards at Gibeah in the land of Benjamin saw the Philistine soldiers running away in different ways.

BNV : শৌল সৈন্যদের বললেন, “লোকগুলোকে গোন| ক’জন শিবির ছেড়ে গেছে দেখতে চাই|”ওরা লোক গুনতে শুরু করল| য়োনাথন ও তার অস্ত্রবহনকারী সেখানে ছিল না|
KJV : Then said Saul unto the people that [were] with him, Number now, and see who is gone from us. And when they had numbered, behold, Jonathan and his armourbearer [were] not [there. ]
YLT : And Saul saith to the people who [are] with him, `Inspect, I pray you, and see; who hath gone from us?` and they inspect, and lo, Jonathan and the bearer of his weapons are not.
RV : Then said Saul unto the people that were with him, Number now, and see who is gone from us. And when they had numbered, behold, Jonathan and his armourbearer were not there.
RSV : Then Saul said to the people who were with him, "Number and see who has gone from us." And when they had numbered, behold, Jonathan and his armor-bearer were not there.

ERVEN : Saul said to the army with him, "Count the men. I want to know who left camp." They counted the men. Jonathan and his helper were gone.

BNV : শৌল অহিযকে বললেন, “এবার ঈশ্বরের পবিত্র সিন্দুক আনো|” (সেই সময় ঈশ্বরের পবিত্র সিন্দুক ইস্রায়েলীয়দের সঙ্গে ছিল|)
KJV : And Saul said unto Ahiah, Bring hither the ark of God. For the ark of God was at that time with the children of Israel.
YLT : And Saul saith to Ahiah, `Bring nigh the ark of God;` for the ark of God hath been on that day with the sons of Israel.

ESV : So Saul said to Ahijah, "Bring the ark of God here." For the ark of God went at that time with the people of Israel.

KJV : And it came to pass, while Saul talked unto the priest, that the noise that [was] in the host of the Philistines went on and increased: and Saul said unto the priest, Withdraw thine hand.

ERVEN : Saul was talking to Ahijah the priest {waiting for advice from God}. But the noise and confusion in the Philistine camp was growing and growing. Saul was becoming impatient. Finally, he said to Ahijah the priest, "That's enough. Put your hand down {and stop praying}."

ASV : And Saul said, Let us go down after the Philistines by night, and take spoil among them until the morning light, and let us not leave a man of them. And they said, Do whatsoever seemeth good unto thee. Then said the priest, Let us draw near hither unto God.
ESV : Then Saul said, "Let us go down after the Philistines by night and plunder them until the morning light; let us not leave a man of them." And they said, "Do whatever seems good to you." But the priest said, "Let us draw near to God here."
ERVEN : Saul said, "Let's go after the Philistines tonight. We will take everything from them. We will kill them all!" The army answered, "Do whatever you think is best." But the priest said, "Let's ask God."

We swear by the living God that not one hair of Jonathan's head will fall to the ground! God helped Jonathan fight against the Philistines today." So the people saved Jonathan. He was not put to death.
